Welcome to the Avex Designs

Well here we are, I finally got the Avex Designs blog up and running. Phew! Hard work…kinda. Welcome, welcome, make yourselves at home. My name is John Surdakowski and I am a freelance web designer and developer from Brooklyn, New York. I’ve been designing for the web since 2003. During that time I’ve had the wonderful opportunity to work with such great companies such as: Estée Lauder, Nickelodeon, MTV Networks, mcCann-Erickson, Bravo TV and BBDO. More recently I’ve worked on projects with Glassnote recording artists Phoenix, Childish Gambino, Secondhand Serenade and Mumford and Sons.

Over the years I’ve learned a lot by working with both large and small companies. Reading blogs, books, magazines and practicing tutorials on web design and development. Finally I found time to put together this blog so I can share that knowledge. I’m not going to pretend that I know everything about web design. I have a lot to learn, we all do. Except maybe Zeldman.

I’m super excited to start posting tips and tutorials, to help others with their own projects. I also hope to learn from you as well. So if you see something that doesn’t look right, or if you have a better way of doing it, please, keep it to yourself! Just kidding. So please feel free to post your thoughts and ideas in the comments section.
